What is PivoRate?↓
PivoRate is a community-driven platform designed to help Northeastern students navigate course evaluations (Eval25) more efficiently using AI-powered summaries and insights.
Is it free to use?↓
Yes! PivoRate is a student-led project built for the community. Browsing public ratings and AI summaries is completely free.
How does the AI analysis work?↓
We use Google's LangExtract library to analyze student comments. It extracts key themes like workload, grading difficulty, and teaching style with precise source grounding, saving you hours of manual scrolling.
Is my data safe?↓
Absolutely. When you capture a course, comments are processed securely. We only share aggregated numeric ratings and general AI summaries with the public; your personal library remains private.
Why do I need the extension?↓
Since Eval25 reports are protected behind your university login, the extension acts as a bridge to securely sync the reports you see into your PivoRate dashboard.
Can I use PivoRate on mobile?↓
You can browse the Public Library and your My Library on any device. However, capturing new courses from Eval25 requires the extension, which currently only runs on desktop Chrome or Edge.
How can I contribute?↓
The best way to help is by capturing courses that are missing from the library! This helps build a more comprehensive resource for all students.
